Got Questions? We Have Answers

What is the difference between a custom made mouthguard and one purchased from a shop (boil&bite)?

A custom mouthguard is made by taking an accurate impression of your mouth, which we then make a plaster cast of. The mouthguard is then thermo vacuum formed on this model for a very tight and comfortable fit. This ensures breathing and talking can be normal while wearing one of our guards, whilst also giving you the highest protection possible.

How often should I go to the Dentist?

The recommendation is to visit the Dentist every 6 months for examinations. This works well for most people, although people with gum disease, plaque buildup or cavities may need to visit the Dentist more frequently for the best possible care.

What is a Dental Prosthetist?

A Dental Prosthetist is a dental professional that specialises in the fitting and manufacture of full and partial dentures and custom mouthguards. The costs are kept down as all work is done by the professional in our fully equipped surgery and state of the art laboratory.

New Patients

Dental on Errard currently has some positions for new patients. Upon your first visit with us, you will just be required to complete a new patient form which will give us all the details to ensure the highest standard of treatment is provided.

Why do you take an X-ray at every appointment and is it dangerous?

Taking an X-ray gives us an extremely accurate and detailed look at your dental health. It helps us provide the best and most cost effective treatment planning for your long term oral health. Our X-ray equipment uses the latest technology, with the lowest exposure available. Please advise us if you are pregnant or currently taking any medication.

What do I do if I need to speak to my Dentist?

Dentists may be contacted by phone during regular surgery hours. If the Dentist is with a patient a message will be taken and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

We love feedback at Dental on Errard. We welcome your comments either via email, text or by phone.
